Didn't know we were on Newgrounds

I'd make up your mind...
I meant altogether-wise it was awesome. When I said it's alright, I played the game for like 5 seconds and quickly made a bogus assumption. Total fail on my part.

It's ok (as long as you don't do it anymore from now on). The CC that followed was quite useful after all.

It does tell you how to do the Super Jump. Heck, it's in the first level.

Also, I do agree about the traction, it does feel a bit too slippery at times.

Well, after playing this chapter, I can safely say that the game is great. Everything from the graphics to the music is well done. I really like the first stage music (Bloom Path?) because it uses melodies from several different Mario themes. The game really shows how much work was put into it by all those people.
What are the collectible pipes used for? Not the small checkpoint ones, but the larger ones with stars. Are they some form of 1up?

Yes. I actually plan on adding a quick note about that to avoid future confusion.

EDIT- There, after the next chapter is release, players will find a sign that will inform them about the pipes in level 2.

Well, we are working on it as hard as we can and we think everyone will enjoy it. Still though, since we know there will be a long time between chapters, we want to make sure that there will be enough content in each to keep you busy, like how world 1 contains 2 minibosses on split paths and what not. That said, I believe we will be releasing a trailer sometime soon. We have more than enough to show in it, although Guinea and I want to have a bit more to really get everyone excited.
