Hello everyone, Rystar and Camtendo here! A major congratulations to Miles for achieving second place in the last competition, and I'd also like to thank everyone else for participating! Regardless of some of the problems that we ran into, it was a fun competition, and I think the turnout was worth it overall ^^ Before we continue, here are the rules, copied directly from the ol' timer page: Rules wrote: 1. You have a full week with 2 weekends (9 days). 2. Your entry must be posted in the topic on MFGG by the deadline. 3. Teams are allowed only if it is a team of two people, comprising of a spriter and a programmer. In that case, both receive the badge. Otherwise, you are disqualified. 4. No previously made engines, whether made by yourself or someone else, but you can use some lines of old code, based on "fair use". (For example, you may re-use a dialog box script from another game, but you can't build your game using Hello Engine) 5. Feel free to document your work, using a camera, live broadcast, audio recording, screen recording, twitter-like log etc. 6. Feel free to sleep, eat, drink as much as you need. You do not need to program the full 168 hours! 7. Games are restricted to Nintendo (related) franchises only and original games. Okay, so without further ado, here's the theme for this competition... with a twist... DOUBLE THEME, DOUBLE TEAM That's right! This time around, you have two themes to pick from. You have a choice of using one theme, or using both if you're feeling a bit edgy, heh! So, what are the themes, you ask? Well, in commemoration of the "Yarn Yoshi" announcement, we have the following two: THEME #1: Yoshi! Your objective (if you accept it) is to make a minigame surrounding around the lovable dinosaur of the Mario world, Yoshi! If you pick this theme, your minigame must heavily focus on Yoshi in some form, be it having to play as him or... I dunno, shooting at him or something, if you feel particularly evil. However, for people uninterested in making a Yoshi minigame, we have an alternative... THEME #2: Touch Fuzzy, Get Trippy Your alternative objective (if you didn't accept the former one) is to make a minigame surrounding around the, well, drug of the Mario world, the fuzzy! If you pick this theme over the other, your minigame must feature the fuzzies as prominent enemies, playable characters or, if you want to make it much more interesting, someone can be tripping in your minigame as well! ----- Remember, you can also use both themes at once if you feel like a true daredevil! You have approximately a week from now, so the deadline for the competition is February 3rd, 2013 at 3:00 PM EST. Good luck everyone, and make sure you have fun! ;)
