Congratulations to
lordcyber12 and
Mit for placing runner up in the previous competition. The last competition was great, and it was all thanks to you guys and Diabloist337, Janj, VinnyVideo, ChrisD3 and superdimentiobros who participated. You, as usual, rock!
Minigame Competition #6 will be a 7-day one, as always.
It will start on
Sunday, 19th June, 2011, 0:00:00 GMTThe competition will end exactly on
Saturday, 25th June, 2011, 23:59:59 GMTYes, that means it starts next week, giving you this entire week to take a break, rest, blah blah instead of taking part in another MGC. This should increase the number of participants, as I hope, since people who took part in the previous MGC will have had enough of a time interval to take part in this one.
Any entries posted after this limit will be disqualified. It should be be more than enough to make a game, zip it and upload it to a good host like
http://mediafire.com (as an example, if you are more comfortable with another service then, by all means, use that).
No excuses will be entertained. If you fail to submit your minigame by the the given deadline, whether you have problems uploading it or you have no access to the internet or whatnot, you will be disqualified. The theme, and a countdown to the end of the competition, can be found on the following page:
>>
THEME <<
You are allowed to use characters from other franchises besides Mario, but they must obviously be gaming-related. Of course, you can make a game with Mario-related characters or even your own indie characters if you like.
This theme should be easy to execute too, as long as you have a good imagination and save the details for later. Don't restrict yourself!
All information needed to join is found on the above linked page. Use common sense when making the game. The theme is broad yet the main idea is specific, so as long as you involve it, you'll be fine. You can start the second the page becomes visible.
Anyone can enter! Everyone should enter! Please enter!
It's okay to join late! As long as you submit the game before the deadline, you're fine.
Think about documenting your progress with a camera or screen recording or log! It'd be great to look back on with your badge!
If you'd like a log for yourself, see the end of this post.
The rules of this competition are:
- You have one week. 7 days. 168 hours.
- Your entry must be posted in the topic on MFGG by the deadline
- While teams are allowed, only one person will be allowed to receive the badge. Please decide who gets it well in advance to avoid disputes.
- No previously made engines, whether made by yourself or someone else, but you can use some lines of old code, based on "fair use".
- Feel free to document your work, using a camera, live broadcast, audio recording, screen recording, twitter-like log etc.
- Feel free to sleep, eat, drink as much as you need. You do not need to program the full 168 hours!
- You may use characters from any video gaming related franchise.
Good luck guys!
